Viettel Telecom, Vietnam’s largest mobile operator, began selling four promotional 5G data bundles exclusively through its Tammi app on October 13, 2026. The bundles are available to all Viettel prepaid and postpaid subscribers nationwide, the company said. None of them can be bought through the text-message sign-up channel that Vietnamese users have relied on for years.
The four plans are short-term by design. They last for six hours, one day, three days, or seven days. The format is closer to a travel eSIM pass than to the monthly packages that dominate Vietnam’s mobile market. Viettel says each bundle carries more data than the comparable plans sold by text message at the same price.
Four plans, priced from VND 9,000
The cheapest plan, 5GTammi6H, costs VND 9,000 (about US$0.34 at VND 26,300 to the dollar) for six hours of use. It includes 3 GB of high-speed data plus a separate 2 GB allowance for social media. The plan does not renew automatically.
The daily plan, 5GTammi10, costs VND 10,000 and includes 6 GB of high-speed data plus 2 GB of social media data per day. The three-day plan, 5GTammi25, costs VND 25,000 and provides 8 GB of high-speed data plus 2 GB of social media data each day, or 30 GB in total. The weekly plan, 5GTammi60, costs VND 60,000 (about US$2.28) and includes 45 GB of high-speed data over seven days.

Viettel says the three-day plan costs only VND 5,000 more than its regular equivalent while carrying five times the data. The social media allowance covers TikTok, YouTube, and Meta’s apps, so video viewing does not consume the main data pool.
Why the app gets the best prices
Tammi is Viettel’s own communications and digital services platform. The company says it integrates nearly 50 services, from voice calls, messaging and online meetings to shopping, travel, and health care. Viettel subscribers use no mobile data when they communicate inside the app.
Selling its most generous data bundles only inside Tammi serves two purposes. Subscribers get more data for the same money, and Viettel moves a routine transaction, buying data, from text messages into an app it controls. A customer who opens Tammi to buy a bundle is one tap away from the rest of the platform.
Registration takes three steps in the app, according to Viettel. Users sign in with their Viettel number, open the mobile plan section and its exclusive offers page, then choose a plan and confirm. An SMS confirms activation.

A Viettel Telecom representative said the company wants customers to get more data at a reasonable cost, together with practical benefits when they use the Tammi app. The company has not announced an end date for the bundle program.
For international readers, the pricing shows how aggressively Vietnamese carriers compete on data. A week of 45 GB on a 5G network costs less than a cup of coffee in most Western markets. The bundles are even sold in slices as short as six hours, sized for a flight delay or a day trip.
