VinFast closed the second quarter of 2026 with total revenues of VND30,340.9 billion (US$1,203.7 million), up 85.5 percent from the second quarter of 2025, according to unaudited figures the company published on October 19, 2026. The quarter, which ended June 30, 2026, paired record scale at home with early but measurable contributions from overseas markets, a combination that matters for anyone tracking Vietnam’s green transition from the investor side.

Global electric car deliveries reached 70,085 vehicles in the quarter, up 20 percent from the first quarter of 2026 and 96 percent from a year earlier. Deliveries of e-scooters and e-bikes rose even faster, reaching 286,039 units, double the first-quarter figure and up 311 percent year on year. Vehicle sales accounted for VND28,833.1 billion (US$1,143.9 million) of total revenues, up 92.7 percent from the second quarter of 2025, which the company attributed to growth in Vietnam and rising contributions from India, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Vietnam still anchors the business
The home market remains the foundation. According to the company, VinFast has held the No. 1 position in Vietnam for 22 consecutive months since September 2024, and its share of the overall Vietnam automotive market stood at about 38 percent as of June 30, 2026. Demand signals stayed strong through the quarter: the new-generation VF 8 drew more than 12,700 reservations and the VF 2, the company’s most compact passenger car, more than 28,700, each within days of launch. The depth of that home demand fits a market where electric cars took six of Vietnam’s ten best-seller spots in September, and where electrification now reaches public transport as well, with electric buses replacing diesel route by route in Hanoi.
Overseas markets start to carry weight
International markets outside Vietnam accounted for about 11 percent of total deliveries in the quarter, still a minority share but a growing one. In the second quarter, the company said it ranked No. 1 in the Philippines, No. 5 in India and No. 8 in Indonesia among battery-electric brands. Its global retail network reached 474 showrooms as of June 30, 2026, and management named the Philippines, Indonesia and India as priority international markets, with strategic steps in the United States and Europe and dealer partnerships as the primary distribution channel.
Extended range and robotaxis join the roadmap
The newest product is the VF Wild, a range-extended electric vehicle built on the company’s next-generation large-vehicle platform. It combines an electric drivetrain with extended-range capability for long-distance driving while keeping the core driving characteristics of an EV. The VF Wild is now on sale in Vietnam, and the company expects to bring it to international markets next year.

On autonomous driving, VinFast plans to pilot a fleet of 200 Level 4 robotaxis at Vinhomes Green Paradise in Can Gio in late 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. The company says it is working with the relevant authorities on the controlled-testing framework, safety standards and training protocols the pilot will require.
Growth, with a capital-efficient turn
Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh, the company’s chairman and chief executive, said VinFast “entered the second half of 2026 with strong momentum across our core markets and continued progress in expanding our global platform.” Ms. Lan Anh Nguyen, the chief financial officer, said the company is shifting to a more capital-efficient manufacturing model in Vietnam and adding a complementary earnings stream, steps intended to reduce capital intensity, strengthen consolidated EBITDA and cash generation over time, and support what she described as a pathway toward profitability. For readers of this blog, the quarter is a useful marker: Vietnam’s EV champion is still growing mainly on home demand, but its technology roadmap and its Southeast Asia footprint are becoming part of the investment story, much like the household-level shift visible in homes pairing rooftop solar with an EV.
